My major in college was Art for Elementary Teaching. I find teaching art an exhilarating and learning experience for the student and the teacher. I have explored, studied and taught various forms of Folk Art and Decorative Art over the past 30 years and find the history colorful and charming.
I embrace the history and heritage of yesterday and paint for a legacy for tomorrow. I like to explore combining styles and traditions to keep them vibrant and current. Decorative painting is usually done on functional surfaces: boxes, plates, containers, small furniture pieces, home ornamentation. I have taught through Adult Education, in specialty shops and currently in my home Studio. I am always looking for interested students, especially those who believe they have no talent. I offer classes at all levels of interest.
Through the Society of Decorative Painters I have had original work selected for exhibit at the Library of Congress, The White House, and The Smithsonian. I have also accumulated numerous blue ribbons at the Cal Expo State Fair. My seminars have attracted students from throughout California, a number of U.S. States, and last summer, from Europe.
Thank You for visiting my Artist page and hope you’ll enjoy my work. I am looking forward to visiting with quests at our Annual Show in November.
