Many, many years ago I began painting in oils. This was because my maternal grandmother created such wonderful paintings in oil and I wanted to be able to express my love for all the beauty around me in that way as well. I truly enjoyed the time I spent oil painting, but soon found myself too busy with my career and raising my two beautiful children to find the time needed to continue. However, my creative side would not be held back completely, so I filled the many years between then and now with my love for knitting, crocheting, sewing and crafts (in general) “whenever” I could. When my husband Len and I retired a few years ago, we moved from Fresno to Grass Valley (heavenly). I thought, what better place to turn back to my love of creating by painting. Over the years I had grown to love and appreciate watercolors, mainly because my older sister and mother were both successful watercolor artists. So…in March of 2015 I jumped in !! It has been quite a challenging journey, but one that I am truly loving. So much yet to learn and experience, and “finally” the time to do just that!
